How do you know if you need a therapist?

There are a number of reasons why someone would benefit from seeing a therapist. Here is a list of questions that you might ask yourself.
If you are saying yes to one or more of these, you may wish to talk to someone about possibly seeking help:
1. If you unable to function as you normally do.
2. If you feel unlike yourself — if you are sleeping a lot more, at lot more anxious, less sociable, in a mood that you cannot shake.
3. If you are dealing with an issue you haven’t had to deal with before and it is making you very anxious and you are unsure how to proceed.
4. If the communication between you and your partner is getting worse and you just don’t have the relationship you used to.
5. If your child or partner is acting out in ways that worry you.
6. If you suffered a traumatic or unfortunate event or loss that you need to talk about with someone.

I think I need some support, but how do I know what kind would be best for me?

You can complete the “contact us” box and tell us a convenient time to call you and discuss in order to help you decide what support is most appropriate for your needs.

How much will it cost?

We have a range of fees depending on the service provided. Fees range from £40 per session for counselling and £45 per session for life coaching.

How many sessions will I need?

This will be discussed and decided with you at the initial session, and will be reviewed at appropriate intervals.

Are my sessions confidential?

We adhere to and are bound by the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy Ethical Code of Conduct and all of our work is strictly confidential.

Do you work evenings and weekends?

Yes, many of our therapists work evenings and weekends.

What happens if I miss an appointment? Will I still be charged?

Our policy asks that clients give 24 hours’ notice for cancellations without charge.

What is your cancellation policy?

The time allocated to you for person to person sessions is reserved especially for you. Being on time for your session is greatly appreciated, likewise we will endeavour to run on time to the best of our ability.

Thrive reserves the right to modify or cancel any session if unforeseen circumstances arise. If we cancel we shall inform you as soon as possible.

Cancellation by you

  1. Without prejudice to the following terms, Thrive will provide a full refund for any individual bookings which are cancelled within the first 7 seven days after the making of that booking where the session date has not already passed. This does not apply in case of bookings made by corporate clients.
  2. If you wish to cancel or reschedule a booking please note the following cancellation conditions will apply where you are seeking to cancel a session after the 7 day cooling-off period referred to above:
    (i) less than 24 hours prior to the session – £25 administration fee;
    (iii) failure to show for a session- the full cost of a session will be charged.
